I’m Josh Nichols and have an eclectic background in musical training, composition, teaching, and performing.
I’ve always been musical. I played piano early, but learned by ear and not by sight. Rachmaninoff converted me; I started my real musical training in the later years of High School. I received most of my musical training from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I have a D.M.A. in Composition (The University of Arizona, studied with Daniel Asia), M.M. in Composition (Florida Atlantic University; studied with Dr. Kevin Wilt), M.M. in Performance (Mississippi College; studied with Dr. Robert Knupp), and a B.A. Music Performance (Belhaven University; studied with Mrs. Carol Durham).
I am available to do many things:
- Compose music of varying kinds
- Typeset music (personal or public domain)
- Teach lessons
- Perform
